LK Orthopedics is a part of Oakland Southfield Physician’s (OSP) Patient-Centered Medical Home - Neighborhood (PCMH-N)
Our providers firmly believe that the facilitation of communication, coordination, and integration of care are key principles in providing effective healthcare.
To support this initiative, we encourage our patients to sign release forms allowing us to communicate with their other providers. Referring providers can share previous imaging, such as X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans via our secure email server. Patients can also access their records through our patient portal. It is our pleasure to be part of your neighborhood!
Our regular office hours are:
- Monday -Thursday: 8 am - 5 pm
- Friday: 8 am - 4:30 pm
Physical therapy hours are:
- Monday-Thursday: 6 am - 7:30 pm
- Friday: 6 am - 5:30 pm
In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call emergency medical services at 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT! Inform the emergency room staff that you are a patient of Lederman Kwartowitz Orthopedics and they will contact us.
If you have an urgent medical need and need to talk to our doctors after our regular hours, please call our answering service at (248) 691-8667. A doctor is on-call 24 hours a day. Your call will be returned promptly.
For medical needs after hours, our office recommends using Lakes Urgent Care.

For an orthopedic visit: If your insurance is an HMO/managed care plan and you are required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician, the referral must be obtained before you can be seen for an office visit. Please coordinate this with your primary care physician in advance. Appointments will be rescheduled if required referrals are not received in the office by the time of your visit.
For physical therapy treatment: You will need a referral from your physician or medical provider (primary care doctor, nurse practitioner, orthopedic surgeon, podiatrist, chiropractor, etc.) to have your insurance pay for your visits.
Lederman Kwartowitz Orthopedics will accept an initial referral for PT by fax, by phone, or by email from your provider, and we will obtain the needed signed prescription within days of your referral, or you may bring the signed referral form with you to our office.
We make every effort to decrease the cost of your medical care. Therefore, we request payment arrangements for all office services at the time they are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made.
We accept cash, checks, money orders, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. If we are a participating provider for your insurance company, we will bill them. However, payment is the patient’s responsibility. We will help in any way we can to assist you in handling claims.
No Surprises Act
Under the No Surprises Act law recently enacted, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care will cost if you do not have insurance, or are not using insurance. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
