Michigan residents who have been living with pain due to orthopedic conditions during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place order can now undergo their elective procedures. This decision comes in accordance with Governor Whitmer’s announcement that Michigan will be lifting restrictions on elective surgeries starting May 29th.
Throughout the pandemic, LKO has remained open, offering patients the opportunity to visit with our physicians and physical therapists safely in clinic and at home.
For more than two months, patients have had to postpone their elective orthopedic surgeries due to COVID-19. For this reason, LKO physicians will be adding additional surgical days over the next several months to help accommodate any current or future patient in need of orthopedic surgery.
Some of the most common orthopedic cases that can now be rescheduled include: rotator cuff tear repairs, torn knee ligament and/or meniscus tear repairs, knee and hip replacements and carpal tunnel repairs.
We have, and will continue to, implement CDC-recommended protocols to protect our patients and staff, and allow our clinicians to continue to provide essential, high-quality orthopedic care safely.
